BLACK DIRT CBD: CBD THE BLACK DIRT WAY
Our farm has the richest organic soil in the country, known as “black dirt”. Being the most fertile soil in the North American region we knew this would be ideal to grow hemp. When New York State offered the opportunity through an Agricultural Research & Development program, we seized the moment and submitted our application. We were proudly accepted into the program…. thus our journey began.
WHY BLACK DIRT?
We know that growing our hemp in these rich fields will yield high-quality, organic CBD that you won’t find anywhere else.
Black Dirt is the most fertile soil in the country. This amazing, jet black soil is what remains of a glacial lake that melted 12,000 years ago and because of that, it has a ton of organic, nutrient-rich matter in it. This organic matter consists primarily of decomposing plant material which is great for growing healthy plants. Most areas typical soil contains 5% or less of organic matter while Black Dirt contains 50% or more. This much higher proportion of organic matter gives it an abundance of plant nutrients.
WHAT IS CBD?
CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the cannabis plant. It’s a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Cannabidol is the 2nd most prevalent cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and it is emerging as a promising therapy for many illnesses that experts have previously considered to be untreatable.
